I got the kids a kitty while they were at their dad's over the first half of winter break. His name is Malachi and he is something else! What an ornery little thing! He LOVES water. I kid you not, he rushes to the bathtub when he hears the water running for the bath or the shower...and he JUMPS IN!!! He is the craziest cat I have ever known. The kids love him...even after he makes them cry by biting and scratching them...it takes just a second until they are ready to go back to playing with him again.
The kids and I went to Chuch E. Cheese and David met us there with his son Kyle. We played with the kids and ate pizza for dinner. Kyle and Isaac rode this ride over and over again. It's a virtual roller coaster where the seat moves up and down and sideways as the picture in front of you shows a bird's eye view of a roller coaster ride. The boys loved it, and it was so funny because Isaac put his hands in the air and screamed and Kyle imitated him. They had a blast. Of course Maddie had fun, too. She raked in the tickets from the basketball shooting game and from the skee ball machine. (Is it ski or skee???)
It snowed pretty much here for the first time this winter. The kids wanted to make a snowman, and by the time we got home from work, school, and the babysitter, it was dark outside. But we got bundled up anyway, turned on the back porch light, and started making a snowman. We had to turn the front porch light and move the snowman to the front yard so everyone who drove by could see it! We put rocks on him for buttons down his body and flat rocks sidways for his smile, a pink straw for his nose, and two green M&Ms for each eye. We put Isaac's old hat on him and big rocks for his feet and rose bush branches for his arms. Then we admired our work, took a picture, and went inside for hot chocolate and a warm bath before bed.
Christmas at my mom's house was certainly something. We walked in the door and there were only for a few minutes before mom and Bob gave all the grandkids homemade guns made out of PVC pipe...complete with a baggie of miniature marshmallows to shoot at each other through the guns! Oh my gosh....I think it was everyone's favorite toy. The adults even joined in and the kids were laughing so hard at Uncle Tom, Uncle Shawn, and Uncle David all shooting marshmallows at each other! This picture is just a sampling of the damage done to the house that day. There were marshmallows stuck everywhere! See the top left corner of the big picture? Here...look closer...

Okay...my blog would not be complete without a funny from Isaac. Here you see him playing with his little fish and his dolphin. He insisted that the pocket in his long underwear was a "cave" for the fish! I couldn't resist taking pictures...and of course the little ham obliged. :)
Maddie has been doing SO well in school. Her report card for the last two nine week periods have been excellent. Her teacher, Mrs. Jones, has nothing but good to say about her. She is getting ready to have her second award ceremony and for the second time, she has won every award there is to win. She is in the Principal's Club for the second nine weeks again for doing so well. This time, she got a report card from each of her teachers for music, art, and gym. She got O's (outstanding) in each class, and her art teacher, Mrs. Patterson, wrote the following on her grade card, "Madison has exhibited a natural art ability beyond her age group. She is extremely talented and creative. Her drawing and coloring skills are exceptional. I am excited to see how her art progresses in the future." Is that not great? She also has an art piece showcased all this month at the Groveport Town Hall along with 3 other girls in her class. I am just so proud of her!
