7But we have this
treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and
not from us. 8We are hard
pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but
not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed....
15All this is
for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may
cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
16Therefore we
do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are
being renewed day by day. 17For our light
and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs
them all. 18So we fix our
eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal.

They may press us on every side...but they WON'T crush our spirit. We may be faced with difficulty or uncertainty...but we will NOT despair. We may be persecuted...but we are NOT abandoned. We may be struck down....but we are NOT destroyed. Others will see how God brings us through adversity and will watch how we deal with it and He will be glorified. We will NOT be discouraged. Though it seems like there is no good that is coming from our circumstances, we feel the weight of them lifting more every day. These trials and struggles are nothing compared to eternity in love, peace, and harmony with our Creator and the ones we love. So we don't look at the circumstances we find ourselves in, no matter how bleak it appears. We focus on the hope that is there that we cannot yet see. Because what we see is only temporary and it is all subject to change, but the end result that is unseen is eternal, forever, and of greater good than we can even imagine.
